Commercial Flooring
Commercial flooring installation, refinishing, and repair planned around your business hours, foot traffic, and the realities of working in an occupied property.
Amazonia Floors provides commercial flooring installation, refinishing, and repair throughout Baltimore County, Baltimore City, Harford County, and surrounding Maryland communities. Since 2007, we’ve worked with businesses and public spaces to choose and install flooring based on how the property is actually used.
From carpet in an office to luxury vinyl in a high-traffic space or refinishing existing hardwood that’s worth keeping, we start by looking at the space before recommending the floor.
Choosing Flooring for a Commercial Space
The right flooring for a private office may not be the right flooring for an entryway, hallway, storefront, school, or other heavily used area.
Traffic is one consideration, but it’s not the only one. Maintenance, appearance, moisture, noise, existing flooring, and the amount of disruption involved in installation can all influence the decision.
Amazonia Floors works with hardwood, carpet, luxury vinyl, laminate, tile, and stone, allowing us to compare materials based on the needs of the property rather than trying to make one flooring type work everywhere.
If your business has several types of spaces, that can also mean using different flooring materials where each one makes the most sense. For high-traffic commercial areas, we also consider slip resistance and, where relevant, ADA compliance, particularly in schools, libraries, and other public spaces where those factors affect more than appearance.
How a Commercial Project Comes Together
1. Evaluate the space and how it’s used.
We look at how people move through the property, where flooring materials need to transition, and what condition the existing floor is in before recommending anything.
2. Plan around your business, not just the room.
Installation can often be scheduled after hours, on weekends, or in phases so occupied areas stay open while work happens elsewhere in the property.
3. Confirm material and transition details before work begins.
We work through existing surface conditions, material transitions, layout, and access to the space so there are no surprises once installation starts.
4. Install with minimal disruption.
Work is coordinated to limit the amount of time any part of the property is out of use.
5. Walk the finished space together.
We review the completed work with you, including transitions, edges, and any areas that connect to flooring outside the scope of the project.
Refinish, Repair or Replace?
Worn commercial flooring doesn’t automatically mean everything needs to come out.
Existing hardwood, for example, may be a candidate for sanding and refinishing rather than replacement. Localized damage may be repairable. Other floors may have reached the point where replacing the material is the more practical long-term choice.
We evaluate the condition of the existing floor first and explain the options before deciding how much of it actually needs to change.
That approach can be particularly valuable in commercial spaces where replacing flooring means moving furniture, limiting access, or temporarily taking part of the property out of use.
